Description

These juicy and flavorful turkey meatballs are an easy and healthy meal option, featuring a blend of Italian seasoning, Parmesan, and garlic powder. Perfectly baked, air fried, or pan-fried, they offer versatile cooking methods to suit your preference and schedule. Ready in just 30 minutes, this recipe yields tender meatballs ideal for a weeknight dinner or meal prep.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400ºF to prepare for baking the meatballs.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Combine Meat and Mix: In a separate large bowl, add the ground turkey and then the egg. Pour in the breadcrumb mixture. Use your hands to gently mix everything together until evenly combined, taking care not to overmix to keep the meatballs tender.
  4. Shape Meatballs: Divide the meat mixture into 16 equal portions, about two tablespoons each. An easy way is to first divide into four quarters, then divide each quarter into four pieces. Shape each into a round meatball.
  5. Bake Meatballs: Place the shaped meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until cooked through. For extra browning, bake 15 minutes then transfer to a hot skillet with butter and sauté for about 5 minutes until browned.
  6. Air Fryer Option: Preheat your air fryer to 400ºF. Arrange the meatballs in the basket without overcrowding. Air fry for about 8 minutes, shaking halfway through for even cooking and browning. Cook in batches if needed.
  7. Stovetop Option: Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches of about 8. Cook them for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the meatballs hot as a main dish, with pasta, salad, or your favorite side.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat mixture to avoid tough meatballs.
  • Use fresh ground turkey for best flavor and texture.
  • For extra richness, sauté meatballs in butter after baking to get a golden crust.
  • If air frying, do not overcrowd the basket to ensure even cooking.
  • Meatballs can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
